Steam Train Wedding in Cullinan, Pretoria

Cullinan is such a charming little town, I am surprised that we didn’t visit it prior to this wedding.  The photographic opportunities are endless and each area different in it’s own way.  Depending on the wedding venue you choose in the area, you may have to travel to different areas around town, so keep this in mind when planning your creative shoot for the day.

Our couple scheduled to shoot their getting ready images, with the visit of the old steam train in the area.  It arrives only on certain days, at a limited time.  So our timing had to be perfectly co-ordinated, the groom was first, a quick creative shoot, before the bride arrived. It would have been more ideal to have their couple shoot with the train, as it can become a bit concerning to keep the couple clean before the ceremony.

Myself and the Mother of the bride created a small miracle, having soot on a white dress… Handy Andy and a toothbrush came to the rescue.  Certainly a first for me, but her dress was a perfect white, at the moment she walked down the aisle.

Our venue, Victorian Manor, run by such an amazing couple… has an old world charm, with a modern black and white twist.  I still remember walking outside, finding this delectable dessert table… Which of course I couldn’t resist, sitting in a comfortable chair in the background, The Chef/Owner, watching me intently as I marveled over his creations.  A friendship started, of course and I still like to go find his dessert table.
