This is certainly a very personal and special post for me. The Mommy of this little boy, has been my friend for 25 years… maybe more… I forget to add a year, every year. Let’s just say, it’s lifelong? Then I don’t have to do the maths anymore.
Now all these years later, her eldest and my eldest play with each other like their old friends, old souls.
I know how long she’s waited for this little special boy. A blessing. It’s almost as if the second child in a family knits a family closer with more love, stability and grace. It has been such a heartwarming experience seeing her family grow and watching her grow as a mother and wife.
I guess a good friendship, with many years, is like a good wine, it gets better with time. No matter the time apart, we know we can always trust each other with our deepest fears and inner troubles.
“Brother and sister, together as friends, ready to face whatever life sends. Joy and laughter or tears and strife, holding hands tightly as we dance through life.”
“Boys are meant for kisses and hugs, For watching rainbows and catching bugs, For sharing all of your favorite things, For books to read and songs to sing.”
When we decided to provide “baby” photography as a service, I knew that I didn’t want to be one of those photographers who try to put little junior in a confined space to look cute… don’t get me wrong, those are cute… but it’s not for me. Being a parent myself I want to remember the love, the embrace, the emotion of holding that baby in my arms. It is such a raw emotional and exhausting time, the reality that you can only experience with a new little baby.
Little Rico was definitely one of my more challenging baby shoots. First time a baby pooped on my camera. Considering our challenges, I am however thrilled with the photographs we got. Hano (Daddy) is such a great sport! Always so willing to bring his “special charm” that cracks me up. Thank you Hano!
